US National Parks - Summer in the National Parks.
For Summer travel to the National Parks we are highlighting our attention to some of the most spectacular U.S. sceneries such as; Rocky Mountain National Park, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, Yosemite and Olympic National Parks as well as Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Rocky Mountain National Park: Established on January 26, 1915, Rocky Mountain National Park is a living showcase of the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains. With elevations ranging from 8,000 feet in the wet, grassy valleys to 14,259 feet at the weather-ravaged top of Longs Peak. Yellowstone National Park: Yellowstone is famous for hosting more than 10,000-plus hot springs and geysers, the majority of the planet’s total. Yellowstone’s geothermal wonders are created by one of the world’s largest active volcanoes; its last eruption caused a crater or caldera that spans almost half of the parks size. Grand Teton National Park: Grand Teton National Park is located in northwestern Wyoming. Grand Teton National Park protects stunning mountain scenery and a diverse array of wildlife. Yosemite National Park: Yosemite National Park embraces a spectacular tract of mountain-and-valley scenery in the Sierra Nevada, which was set aside as a national park in 1890. Olympic National Park: Glacier capped mountains, wild Pacific coast and magnificent stands of old-growth forests, including temperate rain forests -- at Olympic National Park, you can find all three. Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Great Smoky Mountains National Park, established in June of 1934, is one of the largest protected areas in the Eastern United States. World renowned for the diversity of its plant and animal life, the beauty of its ancient mountains, the quality of its remnants of Southern Appalachian mountain culture, and the depth and integrity of its wilderness sanctuary, the park attracts over nine million visitors each year. White Sands National Monument: Great wave-like dunes of gypsum sand have engulfed 275 square miles of desert and have created the worlds largest gypsum dune field. More
Pinnacles National Monument: Massive monoliths, spires, sheer-walled canyons and talus passages define millions of years of erosion, faulting and tectonic plate movement. More
