Alagnak Wild River - Environmental Factors

Home > Alagnak Wild River > Park Info > Nature and Science > Environmental Factors

The waters of the Alagnak support significant sockeye salmon spawning habitat for the Bristol Bay commercial fishery, one of the largest in the world. Recent water quality studies conducted in the area has indicated pristine water quality conditions.

Maintaining the pristine water quality on the Alagnak, is the primary environmental concern to be attended to by the National Park Service.
