Apostle Islands National Lakeshore offers the opportunity to get away from it all by camping on remote islands surrounded by the waters of Lake Superior. Camping opportunities range from developed sites near docks to minimal-impact wilderness camping. All sites are located on islands in Lake Superior; none are accessible by road.

Lake Three Campground

Description: Lake Three campground sits on the shore of the beautiful 72 acre Lake Three, the lake has large mouth bass, and pan fish. The campground is located on the North Country National Scenic Trail. The lake is a no-wake lake for more pristine solitude. The boat landing is paved with paved ramp access. The site is located very near the popular Morgan Falls/St Peters Dome hiking trail and other area lakes, and streams. During off-peak, reservations are not taken, but the campground is open with full services from May 1st thru Oct 27th on a first come first serve basis. Please pets must be leashed at all times. The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest has prohibited the possession, storage or transportation of any firewood that originates from outside the state of Wisconsin. This is to prevent the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer and other exotic insect pests. Firewood is available at or near the campground. Description: Beaver Lake campground is open on a first come first serve basis from May 1st thru Oct 27th. Reservations are accepted for the periods between May 15th thru Sept 15th. Reservations must be made 4 days in advance. ATVs must be trailered at all times. Please pets must be leashed at all times. The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest has prohibited the possession, storage or transportation of any firewood that originates from outside the state of Wisconsin. This is to prevent the spread of the Emerald Ash Borer and other exotic insect pests. Firewood is available at or near the campground. Beaver Lake is a cozy family campground on the Shore of Beaver Lake. Fishing in the lake is good for pan fish, large mouth bass, and perch. A shot trail connects the campground to the North Country National Scenic Trail. The campground is also near the very popular Morgan Falls/St Peters Dome hiking trail.

The campground is near the popular Morgan Falls/St. Peters Dome hiking trail, Penokee Overlook. Loon are often sited and the sounds of the loon in the early morning are just beautiful. During off-peak, reservations are not taken, but the campground is open with full services from May 1st thru Oct 27th on a first come first serve basis. Please pets must be leashed at all times. Namekagon Campground

Description: Namekagon campground is open on a first come, first serve basis from May 1st thru Oct 27th. Reservations are accepted from May 15th thru Sept 15th. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. The campground is located in an old growth hardwood and hemlock forest. Large campsites. The campground has a large day use area with covered picnic shelter, beach, and basketball hoop. The boat landing is located within the campground. The campground is located near the CAMBA mountain bike trails and the Namekagon interpretive hiking trail for the entire family. Many area lakes and streams nearby. Pets must be leashed at all times. Namekagon Lake is 3,227 acres and has good fishing for muskie, walleye, northern, bass, and panfish.

The trail accesss approximately 100 miles of ATV trail riding and local services. Egress and ingress only from your site to the trail. Your reservation confirmation will also serve as a parking pass at day-use parking associated with the campground. The campground has a beach, paved walking trail, a primitive interpretive walking trail, and a fishing pier. Just out side of the campground mile is Day Lake boat ramp and picnic site. Great area for larger gatherings or to view a beautiful Northwoods sunset.
