Skyline Arch is one of the most popular play stops for many visitors of Arches National Park. It is an easy hike to the arch and althoguh it is a difficult scramble to get up and under the arch, it is a great place to experience one of these spectacular arches up close. It also offers some wonderful views of Arches National Park. As a testament that these large rock formations can quickly change, in 1940 a large chunck of rock fell from this arch instantly doubling the size of its opening!

Interesting Point: Skyline Arch is the only arch that sits on the skyline which is why it was named Skyline Arch and because of its positioning, it can be viewed from many parts of the park.

Start Point: Skyline Arch parking area.

Distance: 0.4 mile (0.6 km) round trip. Approximate time: 10 to 20 minutes.

Trail Description: A short hike on a flat, well-defined trail.
