Aztec Ruins National Monument - Facilities![]() Aztec Ruins National Monument Visitor Center Open Memorial Day to Labor Day 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.: The rest of year 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Phone (505) 334-6174 ext 30 Location Aztec Ruins National Monument is located on Ruins Road about 3/4 mile north of U.S. Highway 516, just outside the town of Aztec, New Mexico. Closures The monument is closed January 1, Thanksgiving Day, and December 25. Special Programs Rangers offer scheduled interpretive programs in the summer. Scholarly lectures and American Indian Art Demonstrations are offered periodically. Times and locations for these activities will be posted in the spring Exhibits Artifacts excavated from the site or related to it are exhibited in a small museum within the visitor center museum. A beautifully photographed video titled "Hisatsinom" is shown in the visitor center daily. The video relates the fascinating pre-Columbian ancestral Pueblo history of the region. Available Facilities The Western National Parks Association sells books, video tapes, calendars, postcards, and other interpretive items at an outlet located in the visitor center. |
