Fontenelle Creek Recreation Area

Description:

This campground is on the shores of Fontenelle Reservoir, created when the Green River was dammed. The area contains fishing and water sports within spectacular badlands. There are several historic sites from the trapping days and the western migration, like Holden Hill and Names Hill. This is a fee site with 55 campsites with toilets, pic areas, boat ramp, fishing access, fish cleaning station, playground, trailer dump station, and information. This site is located near historic sites. Please do not collect or damage these resources.

Directions:

From LaBarge, go south 15 miles on US 189 to the the campground. The campground is located on the west side of Fontenelle Reservoir.

November's Featured Park
The North Cascades have long been known as the North American Alps. Characterized by rugged beauty, this steep mountain range is filled with jagged peaks, deep valleys, cascading waterfalls and glaciers. North Cascades National Park Service Complex contains the heart of this mountainous region in three park units which are all managed as one and include North Cascades National Park, Ross Lake and Lake Chelan National Recreation Areas.
November's Animal
Badgers are animals of open country. Their oval burrows (ten inches across and four to six inches high) are familiar features of grasslands on sandy or loamy soils of the eastern plains or shrub country in mountain parks or western valleys.
