The site is located 15 miles north of the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitor Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. It is 6 miles west of the town of Baldwyn, Mississippi on MS 370, 4 miles from US Highway 45.

The National Park Service administers this is a one-acre memorial site. The site is surrounded by a 1400-acre preserve that is administered by the town of Baldwyn, Mississippi which also operates a Visitor Center near the intersection of US 45 and MS 370.
