Agnew Horse Camp Campground Description

The campground is located in the eastern Sierra, west of Mammoth Lakes a full service community. It is in a lodgepole pine forest near trailheads to the Ansel Adams Wilderness Area, Pacific Crest and John Muir Trails. Popular activities include fishing, in the 2 lakes and the North Fork of the San Joaquin River, hiking, photography, horseback riding, geology study and Devils Postpile. Red's Meadow Pack Station is located about 8 miles at the end of Red's Meadow Road with a small general store, cafe and the trail to Rainbow Falls.

Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. This is bear habitat. Proper food storage is required by law. Food Lockers are provided. Two vehicles per campsite which includes horse trailer. Campfires must be attended at all times. Fees: There is a Forest Service Access fee. For questions call the Forest Service at Mammoth Visitor Center (760) 924-5500.

Agnew Horse Camp (CA) REDS MEADOW SERVICES POBOX 395 Mammoth Lakes CA 93546 From Hwy. 395, take Hwy. 203 west through the town of Mammoth Lakes, past Mammoth Mt. ski area to Minaret Vista. Continue on Red's Meadow Road to the Agnew Meadows turnoff, about 2.5 miles.
