Bear Group Campground Description

Campsites are for tent camping only. All vehicles and trailers must park in parking lot. Vehicles can use service trail to drop off gear and supplies. See camp host for exceptions due to special needs or call concessionaire at 209-295-4512. Reservations are taken from July - October. Sites may be available outside the reservation dates listed above by contacting concessionaire at 209-295-4512.

Bear Group Campground Alerts

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. 2 night minimum on weekends. There is no electricity/water/sewer hook-ups at this campground. CAUTION Bears frequent the area. All food must be kept in approved containers. Must have 14 day cancellation of reservations for a refund.

Bear Group Campground (CA) ELDORADO NATIONAL FOREST Pioneer CA 95666 From Jackson, CA- Travel east on State Route 88 for 39 miles, turn right - (south) on Bear River Road, travel 2 miles to Y intersection, staying to right side across dam. Travel 1/2 mile past South Shore Campground, staying to left, to Bear Group Campground located on left side of road.
