Tamarack State Wildlife Area, owned and managed by the Colorado Division of Wildlife, is located three miles north of Crook, Colorado. This expansive wildlife area includes approximately 14 miles of South Platte River riparian habitat and hundreds of acres of river bottom. The riverine habitat is used heavily by migrating and wintering waterbirds, as well as bald eagles and songbirds.

For more hunting specific information, please call 1-800-846-9453 or 1-970-472-4451. Hunters MUST have their license plate # and CID # for all reservations. Hunters can still hunt during the week without a reservation; all you have to do is check in & out of the check station.
