
Broad River Campground is located on the south bank of the Broad River where, it joins the Savannah River, on J. Strom Thurmond Lake, the largest Corps of Engineers Lake east of the Mississippi River. This quiet, rural area is very historic, near the now flooded town of Petersburg, and the Nancy Hart Historical Site in Elbert County. The campground is 20 miles southeast of Elberton, Georgia, "Granite Capital of the World". The campground features double and triple sites, great for families and friends traveling together. All sites are equipped with water and electrical hook-ups. The ramp at the campground offers the only boating access to the Broad River.

Family site fees range from $16-$18. Double and triple sites range from $32-$54, and full payment is required for the site despite number of camping units. Double sites accommodate two motorized vehicles and tents limited to impact pad capacity. Single family sites accommodate 1 RV and tents limited to impact pad capacity., Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance., 2 might minimum stay on weekends and 3 night minimum stay on holidays., Gates bopen at 7:00 a.m. and close at 10:00 p.m., Maximum of 4 vehicles per site., Visitor hours end at 9:30 p.m., Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check-out time is 2:00 p.m. Late check-out may result in the charge of an additional night's camping fee., No-show fees of $20 plus first night's use fee will be charged if you do not show up within 24 hours of arrival time., No alcohol allowed., For curent lake condiditons, please contact the lake office at 1-800-533-3478 ext. 1147, Think Water Safety! Broad River (GA) 8181 ELBERTON HWY Tignall GA 30668 From I-85, take Exit 58 (Hwy 17) S 30 mi to Hwy 72. Follow Hwy 72 (towards Calhoun Falls) 11 mi to Hwy 79. Turn right and follow Hwy 79 approximately 10 mi. Cross the Broad River, campground will be on left.
