Dam Complex Campground Description

The Dam Complex is a part of the Coralville Lake Project and is comprised of five campgrounds. The campgrounds are Cottonwood, Linder Point, Tailwater East, Tailwater West and West Overlook. The area offers lake and river fishing, camping, boating, swimming and water skiing. There are several public golf courses just a short drive from the Dam Complex. The environment is wooded. Coralville Lake is located very close to Iowa City/ Coralville which boasts the largest mall in Iowa. A visit to the Dam Complex puts you in an ideal location to enjoy the river and many activities.

Dam Complex Campground Alerts

Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance. This campground has first-come, first-serve sites. This campground requires a 2 night minimum stay on weekends.b> Camping equipment is limited to one wheeled unit plus one tent per site or two tents per site. Use of the campsite is limited to your immediate family or no more than six unrelated persons. All equipment must fit on the campsite. Extra vehicles may park in designated parking areas only. Camping fees range from $12-$24/night. For more information, please call the Coralville Lake Project Office at (319) 338-3543 Extension 6300. Tailwater East campsites E7, E10, E12, E13, E14, E15, E16, E17, E18 and E19 are near the bank that slopes down to the Iowa River. Exercise caution especially with small children. Tailwater West campground is adjacent to a popular fishing area which has 24-hour traffic. The following campgrounds are part of the Dam Complex: Cottonwood, Linder Point, Tailwater East, Tailwater West and West Overlook.
