Timpanogas Lake Shelter Campground Description

This rustic log shelter, located at an elevation of 5300', is situated on the shore of Timpanogas Lake within the Oregon Cascades Recreation Area. Although most of the route to this site is paved, the last 7 miles of road to this shelter is rough and narrow. The cabin itself measures 15' X 18', includes a loft, and is designed to sleep 6-8 people. The surrounding site provides additional space for camper or tent camping. Maximum occupancy of the site is 20 people. A wood stove provides heat. There is a wooden table with benches in the shelter and a picnic table and fire ring outdoors. A pit toilet is nearby. Drinking water is not provided but is available at the nearby Timpanogas Campground until late September.

There is a two-night minimum on weekends. Reservations must be made 4 days in advance. Refunds will not be made based on natural conditions., Please call 541-782-2283 5 days prior to your arrival to confirm the combination for the gate lock., Mosquitoes are very bothersome from snowmelt in early July to mid-August. Come prepared., Smoking in the cabin is not allowed., There is no garbage service---please pack your garbage out with you., As this is a wooden structure, please be extremely cautious when using lanterns, cook stoves and the wood stove., Because of the proximity to a campground, occupants must keep noise levels reasonable and respect the quiet hours between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM., Feedback on your experience with the Timpanogas Cabin facility is welcome; you may call 541-782-2283.

Timpanogas (OR) 46375 HIGHWAY 58 Westfir OR 97492, Take I-5 Exit 188A onto Highway 58 and proceed to just past MP 37 (through Oakridge), turning right onto Forest Service Road (FSR) 21, Kitson Springs Road., Continue on paved FSR 21 for approximately 32 miles, turning left onto paved FSR 2154., Continue on FSR 2154 approximately 10 miles (pavement ends at the 3.4 MP)., Watch for a gate on the left side of an unmarked spur, just after a switchback. If you reach the road into the campground, you've driven too far.
