
Cook Day Use Area is located on J. Percy Priest Lake 7 miles east of Nashville, TN, and close to the historic Hermitage, which is the famous home of President Andrew Jackson. Visitors here enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, and hiking as well as many other activities. The day use area offers a boat launch, a playground and interpretive trail.

Cook Day Use picnic shelter reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. The shelter is available for reservation from April 01 - October 30, excluding major holidays and Sundays between May 23 and July 19, 2009. The cost is $40 a day for up to 100 people. No more than 100 people may use the shelter at Cook. The reservation fee is for the reservation of the shelter only. All shelter users must pay the day use fee of $4.00 per vehicle when entering the park. Alcohol and pets are prohibited in the Day Use Area, which includes the Picnic Shelter. Items such as public address systems and amusement rides are not allowed. Activities other than picnicking activities must be approved by the Resource Manager and may require a Special Event Permit. The day use area, which includes the picnic shelter, will close at 7 p.m. Cook does not give rain checks nor do they give refunds for inclement weather.
