Central High School National Historic Site - Activities

Guided group visits for more than ten (10) persons are scheduled by reservation. Please call the Visitor Center at (501) 374-1957 to schedule a tour (please have two dates and times in mind when calling).

Guided group visits include the Visitor Center. They have the opportunity (time permitting) to visit the Commemorative Garden and the historic district of LR Central High School (LR Central High School, Ponder’s Drug Store, and Quigley Stadium). Special programs are available throughout the year by calling (501) 374-1957 to receive current listing.

Visitors may engage in self-guided tours of the Visitors Center, Commemorative Garden, and historic district of LR Central High School at any time.

* A tour of specific areas of the high school must be arranged with the Interpretive Park Rangers two weeks in advance and must include groups of ten (10) or more persons. These tours are done at strict times since the high school has students and classes between August and May. The schedule of tours relate to the bell schedules. Please be flexible with hours and days if you wish to have one of these tours. Tour includes areas of building where specific events related to the Little Rock Nine occured. No self-guided tours are allowed at LR Central High School. No purses, backpacks, pocket knives, fanny packs, etc., allowed in the building
