Saddlehorn Campground
Located near the Visitor Center, has 80 sites and is open year round. Sites are suitable
for tents and recreational vehicles, with some pull-through sites. There is a length limit
of 32 feet for recreational vehicles. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served
basis with a self-registration kiosk at the entrance. The campground has restrooms with
flush toilets and water available during the summer. Each site includes a picnic table,
charcoal-only grill, and a parking area. There are no electric hookups or showers. Wood
fires are not permitted anywhere in the monument. Camping fees are in addition to monument
entrance fees and are $10.00 per night with a 7 person per site limit, a 3 tent site limit,
and there is a limit of 2 vehicles per site. The use of generators is prohibited from 8 p.m.
to 8 a.m.

Co. River - Fruita Campground

Description: The Fruita section of the Colorado River State is the newest addition to this park. There are 63 campsites which include 22 full hookups, 22 electric sites, 13 tent sites and a group camping area. Opportunities abound for fishing, swimming, picnicking, camping, wildlife watching and sightseeing along the Colorado River near the base of the Colorado National Monument. The campground is open year-round and is available on the reservation system from March 1st through November 30th. A camper services building is centrally located with coin operated showers and a laundry facility.

Description: We are an ideal campground as a base camp for exploring the Grand Valley in the Grand Junction Area. Highline Lake State Park is a center for water sports as well as being a centeral location for the mountain biking areas nearby. We have 31 campsites to choose from, most with shade and plenty of grass. We have laundry/shower facilities, a dump station and plenty of water outlets; however, we do not have electrical outlets. Our campsites can accommodate both tents and RV's year round. We do recommend that visitor's make reservations if they plan on visiting us on a weekend between April through October.

Description: Island Acres, the eastern anchor of Colorado River State Park, located just east of Palisade provides a choice of full hook-up, electric hook-up or tent camping. Coin showers and laundry are also available spring through fall. Colorado River State Park is actually five diverse sections along the Colorado River as it flows through the Grand Junction area. Reservations are available for the nights of March 1 through October 31. Camping is also available at the Fruita Section 30 miles to the west. Nestled along the Colorado River in Debeque Canyon, Island Acres offers opportunities for walking, biking, fishing and swimming. The surrounding canyon walls offer a spectacular backdrop and maybe even a glimpse of wild horses or Big Horn Sheep. There are three fishing lakes, two of which are stocked. A fourth lake, designated as the Swimmin' Hole, is surrounded by a sandy beach. Area attractions include the Grand Mesa, Colorado National Monument, museums, wineries and orchards.
