pull through sites, located in the vicinity of a historic narrow gauge
railroad town. Water and flush toilets, Denver and Rio Grande Western
Railroad exhibits, visitor center, RV dump station, and easy access to
fishing on Crystal Reservoir near the Morrow Point Dam. Fees: $12.00 per
night. $6.00 per night for Interagency Senior/Access Pass
Dry Gulch Open Open from Spring to Fall
Phone 970-641-2337 ext 205 Details Just north of U.S. Highway 50, 17 miles west of Gunnison. Nine sites among large cottonwood trees. Picnic tables, fire grates, vault toilets, water and horse corral.

East Elk Creek (group campground) Open Open from Spring to Fall
Phone 970-641-2337 Details Just north of U.S. Highway 50, 16 1/2 miles west of Gunnison. One group site located under large cottonwood trees. Accommodates a total of 50 people. Picnic shelter and tables, fire grates, vault toilets and water. Fee: $53.00 per night plus. East Elk Creek is available by reservation only. Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance. East Portal Open Open from Spring to Fall
Phone 970-641-2337 ext 205 Details Two miles below Crystal Dam at the bottom of the Black Canyon. Access via Route 347, 6 miles north of junction with U.S. Highway 50. Proceed 5 miles down East Portal Road. Fifteen sites are shaded by box elder trees. Campground is located near the historic Gunnison River Diversion Tunnel. Picnic tables, fire grates, vault toilets, water and visitor contact station.
Fees: $12.00 per night. $6.00 per night for Interagency Senior/Access Pass. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservations). Note: Vehicles exceeding 22 feet in length (including trailer) are not permitted on the East Portal Road because of the steep 16% grade and sharp, narrow curves.

Details 16 miles west of Gunnison on Highway 50. 160 sites located on the shore of Blue Mesa Reservoir in treeless, sagebrush, mesa country. 16 walk-in sites and 20 pull-through sites are available. Elk Creek Campground is accessible, has flush toilets, water, RV dump station, showers, marina, restaurant, and a visitor center.

Gateview Open Open from Spring to Fall
Phone 970-641-2337 ext 205 Details Extreme south end of the Lake Fork Arm of Blue Mesa Reservoir. Access via Colorado Highway 149, 7 miles west of Powderhorn. Proceed north 6 miles on an improved narrow gravel road. Six sites located in a deep, narrow canyon. Picnic tables, fire grates, vault toilets and water. No fee. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservations).
Lake Fork Open Open from Spring to Fall
Phone 970-641-2337 ext 205 Details 27 miles west of Gunnison off Highway 50. 90 sites, most are paved, 16 pull through sites, 5 walk in sites, next to Blue Mesa Reservoir. Lake Fork Campground is accessible, has flush toilets, water, showers, marina, an RV dump station, visitor center, campground amphitheater and is close to Blue Mesa Dam.

Phone 970-641-2337 ext 205 Details Northwest end of the Soap Creek Arm of Blue Mesa Reservoir. Access via Colorado Highway 92, 1/2 mile west of Blue Mesa Dam. Proceed north 7 miles on the Soap Creek gravel road. Twenty-eight sites are located among scattered pine trees. Picnic tables, fire grates, vault toilets, water, boat ramp and horse corral.

All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis (no reservations). Note: The first 7 miles of Soap Creek Road are accessible to trailers and recreational vehicles during dry conditions. Rain can make the road very muddy and hazardous.
