Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area - Plan Your Visit![]() Park grounds, trails, roadways, and the Delaware River are open 24 hours a day, year-round, unless closed due to heavy snowfall, ice, or other hazardous conditions. Day use areas and river accesses are open dawn to dusk daily.
Local Partners & Information Resources Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, Avoca PA, 65 miles west: (570) 457-3445 Newark International Airport, Newark NJ, 70 miles east: (973) 961-6000 The north end of the park is at Milford PA, 5 miles from the NY/NJ border at Port Jervis NY. From points northeast, north, and northwest, take Interstate 84 to PA Exit 46. Follow Route 6 east 2 miles to Milford, and take Route 209 south to enter the north end of the park. The south end of the park is along Interstate 80 at the town of Delaware Water Gap PA. From points southeast, south, and southwest, connect to Interstate 80. ($.75 toll westbound) To enter the Pennsylvania side of the park, from Interstate 80 take PA exit 309 and Route 209 north 10 miles to Bushkill PA. Dingmans Falls Visitor Center is 14 miles farther north on Route 209 from this point. Please check the hours for this visitor center first, as it is closed in off-season. From the west, PA Route 739 south from Interstate 84 PA Exit 34 reaches Dingmans Ferry PA in 14 miles. For Dingmans Falls Visitor Center (closed in off-season), turn right onto Route 209 south and 1/10 mile later turn right again onto Johnny Bee Road. From the east, it is 25 miles from Interstate 80 NJ Exit 34, via NJ Routes 15 north and 206 north and Sussex County 560 west, to the recreation area just west of Layton NJ. From Layton, it is 2 miles farther along Route 560 west to the bridge at Dingmans Ferry PA, or 2 miles south on Kuhn Road to Old Mine Road at Peters Valley NJ. For Millbrook Village via Old Mine Road, see "Facilities." To reach Millbrook Village from Blairstown NJ, take NJ Exit 4C on Interstate 80 and follow NJ Route 94 north 9 miles to the traffic light in Blairstown NJ for Route 521/Stillwater Road. Turn left as if to follow Route 521 north but immediately continue straight onto Route 602 east and north through Blairstown. A few blocks later, at the stop sign part way up a hill, turn right, then follow Route 602 as it bends immediately left towards Millbrook. Mileage from the traffic light to Millbrook Village is 7.3 miles. MTA Metro-North Railroad: (800)638-7646 There are only three places to cross the Delaware River within the 35 miles of the park. The Interstate 80 bridge at Delaware Water Gap (EZPass or toll of $.75 westbound) at the south end of the park; the privately-owned bridge in Dingmans Ferry PA linking PA Route 739 and NJ Route 560 ($.75 each way), 28 miles north of Interstate 80, and the Route 206 bridge (EZPass or toll of $.75 westbound) near Milford PA at the north end of the park, 6 miles south of Interstate 84. |
