Operating Hours Seasons

Visitor Center

During 2010 the visitor center will be open April 14th through November 30th, when it closes for the season. Information can be obtained at the administration building during the winter. Upon reopening, April visitor center hours are 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays.

Beginning November 1st, the visitor center will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The visitor center will close for the season on Wednesday, December 1st, 2010.

Starting May 1st, the visitor center is open seven days a week, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Beginning May 29th the visitor center is open every day from 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

The road into Devils Postpile and the Reds Meadow Valley has closed due to a wintery mix of snow, ice, and heavy rain. This will be updated as more information is known regarding whether the road will open again for the season. Please call 760-924-5500 for the most up to date information

The Red's Meadow Shuttle Bus has stopped running for the 2009 season.

The Monument's Ranger Station is open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm during the summer season. The Ranger Station is closed for the season.

Getting There

Plane

Closest commercial airport is Reno, Nevada.

Car

Drive 10 miles west from U.S. 395 on S.R. 203 to Minaret Summit and then 7 miles on a paved, narrow mountain road.

Bus

From July 1 through September 1, YARTS offers daily bus service from Yosemite Valley to the town of Mammoth Lakes. Call 1-877-989-2787 or visit www.yarts.com.

Public Transportation

From late June to early September, day-use visitors to the Devils Postpile/Reds Meadow area must ride the shuttle bus
