Devils Tower National Monument - Plan Your Visit

Operating Hours Seasons

Devils Tower National Monument is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The visitor center is open April 8 through November 30, 2009, then closes for the season. Information can be obtained at the administration building during the winter.

April visitor center hours are 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays.

On May 1, the visitor center is open seven days a week, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Beginning May 23 the visitor center is open every day from 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

On September 7, visitor center hours change to 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Beginning November 1, the visitor center will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The visitor center will close for the season on Monday, November 30, 2009.

Campground

The campground and picnic area are open April 24 through the end of October, weather permitting.

Nearest commercial airports at Gillette, WY and Rapid City, SD

Car

Visitors traveling east on I-90 exit at Moorcroft, WY. Visitors traveling west on I-90 exit at Sundance, WY, take 14 north to 24, take 24 north to Devils Tower.

A scenic alternative for visitors traveling west on I-90 - take exit 199, follow 111 north to 24, take 24 west through the town of Hulett to Devils Tower.

Public Transportation

There is no public transportation available to Devils Tower National Monument.

Vehicles may be rented in Gillette, WY or Rapid City, SD.

Getting Around

Personal vehicle and hiking.

Pets are not allowed on trails, but leashed pets may be exercised in the parking areas and along the main road.
