Edge of the Wilderness Scenic Byway

Description:

Leave the urban center of Grand Rapids and enter 47 miles of the natural wonders of upper Minnesota, including vistas of flat lowland meadows, swamps and lakes, rolling hills of hardwood forests, and remnants of glaciers long gone.

Directions:

The Edge of the Wilderness Scenic Byway begins at the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and State Trunk Highway 38 in Grand Rapids and proceeds north on STH 38 through the Chippewa National Forest and the towns of Marcell and Bigfork, terminating in Effie, Minnesota.
