The nearly 46 km (25 miles) of Eastshore Drive skirt the edges of Lake Tahoe, providing visitors with breathtaking views of the Lake Tahoe Basin, while the visitor's center offers accounts of the pioneer and Indian history of the area.
The Byway begins and ends at either Crystal Bay at the top of Lake Tahoe or at the Stateline at the bottom of Lake Tahoe, on the Nevada side. The Byway follows State Road 28 on the northern half of the byway and follows US 50 on the southern half of the byway.
