El Morro National Monument - Plan Your Visit![]() Spring Hours: Visitor Center-9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Trails-9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please plan on being here by 5:00 p.m. at the latest to walk the 1/2-mile Inscription Loop Trail; 4:00 p.m. to walk the entire 2-mile Mesa-top Loop Trail. Portions or all of the Mesa Top Loop Trail may be closed during the winter months (December through March) because of ice and snow. Summer Hours: Visitor Center-8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Trails-8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please plan on being here by 6:00 p.m. at the latest to walk the 1/2-mile Inscription Loop Trail; 5:00 p.m. to walk the entire 2-mile Mesa-top Loop Trail. Fall Hours: (Begin the Tuesday following Labor Day and end with the end of Daylight Savings Time) Visitor Center-9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Trails-9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please plan on being here by 5:00 p.m. at the latest to walk the 1/2-mile Inscription Trail; 4:00 p.m. to walk the entire 2-mile Headland Trail. Winter Hours: (Begin following the end of Daylight Savings Time and end when Daylight Savings Time starts in the spring) Visitor Center-9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Trails-9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please plan on being here by 4:00 p.m. at the latest to walk the 1/2-mile Inscription Trail; 3:00 p.m. to walk the entire 2-mile Headland Trail. Closed December 25 and January 1.. Getting There Car 56 miles southeast of Gallup, NM via Highways 602 and 53; 42 miles southwest of Grants, NM via Highway 53. Public Transportation No public transportation to the area. |
