Description: Campground is open seasonally. Sites in the tent-only area are limited to 6 people and 2 tents per site. Tent-only campsites do not have toilets, electricity or hookups. Water is nearby. Showers and restrooms are located in the main camp loop. Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife operates a fish hatchery located in the Riverside day use area. The fish hatchery annually raises and releases over one million chinook salmon. The hatchery is open to the public. There is a disc golf course. Discs are for sale and to rent at the park. For more information call 503-630-7150. All vehicles and trailers must have all wheels parked on the asphalt in the individual campsites. Note:Reservations can be made 24 hours a day, from 2 days to 9 months in advance. Campsite availability is based on call center hours, meaning sites become available when the call center opens giving no preference to online users versus phone-in customers. Call center hours are: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. Please be aware that only the person whose name is on the reservation may access, change or cancel the reservation. You can stay 14 consecutive days in a single campground, and may return after spending at least three days out of the park (it can be another state park campground; in fact, we recommend you DO select another state park campground). The maximum time allowed within any Oregon State Park is 14 days within any 17 day period. Discount programs which may be offered through the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (such as, but not limited to, Club Camping, Foster Parent, Disabled Veteran, and Active Military Duty fee exemptions) cannot be processed when making an internet reservation. Fee adjustments will not be made after reservations have been confirmed using the Internet reservation service. Customers who wish to secure more than one site within a park for a continuous date period in order to accommodate their reservation request (i.e. split reservation), should be aware that the $6.00 reservation fee would apply to each site reserved. Champoeg Campground

Description: Champoeg park has a year round campground, group RV area with meeting hall, yurts and cabins. Group tent areas, historic pavilion and picnic areas available between Memorial Day Weekend and September 30. Park has visitor center, four miles of paved bike trails, 1.5 miles of hiking and nature trails. There is a courtesy boat and fishing dock (no launching). Champoeg has no designated swim area. Unlicsensed motorized vehicles are not permitted in State Parks. Year round day use parking fee. An OPRD day use permit or annual permit must be displayed in each vehicle. Eagle Creek Overlook Grp Site Campground

Description: Eagle Creek Overlook is a unique group site, capable of accomodating up to 90 people. Featuring the of the 1930's CCC era architecture in it's rock walls and central meeting facility, this campground has a one-of-a-kind view of the Columbia River, Bonneville Dam and the dramatic mountains of the gorge. This site is fully accessible with paved trails and one paved campsite, flush toilets and running water. This is a wooded area with a large, open grass area a for activities. There are approximately 17 individual tables and fire rings to camp around, and one large covered shelter area with fireplace for group activities. A path goes down the bluff on which the campground is situated to the Columbia River. The Eagle Creek recreation area is a couple minute's drive, walk or bike ride away with many picnic sites, fish viewing, a fish hatchery with interpretive information and several trails including one of the northwest's most popular, Eagle Creek. A portion of the historic Columbia River Highway has been converted to a bike path which runs from Cascade Locks 2 miles east, just past the Overlook and runs several miles west. Bonneville Dam is a mile west with it's famous sturgeon ponds, fish viewing and visitor's center. Full amenities are available in Cascade Locks, a 5-minute drive away.

Wildwood Recreation Site Campground

Description: Wildwood Recreation Site is 600 acres of beautiful forest land. It is a day-use only site. There is no overnight camping. It includes a Family Picnic Area nestled in a bend of the Wild and Scenic Salmon River. It has 47 picnic units separated by dense vegetation offering privacy to its users and access to the Salmon River. There is a Group Picnic Area with large capacity picnic pavilions and patio-type picnic areas. Also included in the park is the Trailhead Area which is the beginning of the Cascade Streamwatch and Wetlands Trails. The Cascade Streamwatch Trail is an accessible 3/4 mile paved loop that features quality interpretation, picturesque views of the Wild and Scenic Salmon River, and a fish viewing window below stream level. The Wetlands Trail is also an accessible 3/4 mile loop trail and leads to the challenging Boulder Ridge Trail, which is a 4.7 mile hike up the steep sides of Huckleberry Mountain into the Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness. Wildwood Recreation Site is open the 3rd Monday in March and closes the Monday after Thanksgiving.

Govt Mineral Springs Guard Sta Campground

Description: This newly restored Forest Guard Station was built in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corp. The two-storied cabin can accommodate nine visitors. The lower floor has a large kitchen with a propane stove, a dining room, and a living room with a fireplace and two futon couches that fold down into double beds. Two upstairs bedrooms can accommodate five, with two single beds in one bedroom, and one bunk-bed that sleeps three in a second bedroom. Propane heat, lights and a cooking stove are provided along with wood for the fireplace. Pots, pans, dishes and utensils are provided. Bedding and other linens are not provided. A vault toilet is located within 100 feet of the Guard Station. Nestled in a grove of towering old-growth conifer trees, it is within easy walking distance of Trapper Creek Wilderness and less than an hour's drive to Indian Heaven Wilderness and the Pacific Crest Trail in the summer. There are many recreational opportunities within close proximity of the Guard Station. Depending on the time of year, fishing, hiking, biking, mushroom and huckleberry picking, hunting and winter sport activities are abundant. Nearby fishing opportunities include Spring Chinook fishing on the Wind River (below Carson National Fish Hatchery) approximately April - June, and lake fishing for Brown and Brook trout in Soda Peaks Lake, June through September, in Trapper Creek Wilderness. The Guard Station is located between Mt. St Helens National Volcanic Monument and the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area--great for day trips .
