Operating Hours & Seasons
Summer hours will go into effect on Friday, June 6, 2008. Many of the
programs will remain in effect through Monday, September 1 (Labor Day), but
all of them are valid without exception through Sunday, August 10. These
hours and programs include:
Summer Hours
* Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center: Daily 8:30-6:30.
* Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitor Center: Daily 8:30-6:30.
* Chatham Manor: Daily 9-4:30
* "Stonewall" Jackson Shrine: Daily 9-5
* Wilderness Exhibit Shelter: (on Rt. 20) Historian on duty. Below is a
tentative schedule. Please check at one of the visitor centers for the
availability of this program.
Mondays-Thursdays 10:30-12:15 and 1:45-4:30.
Fridays-Sundays 10:30-12:15-5:15.
* Spotsylvania Exhibit Shelter (off Rt. 613 Historian on duty, daily,
10:00-6:00. Below is a tentative schedule. Please check at one of the
visitor centers for the availability of this program.
* Ellwood (Wilderness Battlefield): Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and
holidays 11-5. After August 18, Ellwood will be open August 22-24 and August
30-September 1.
* Old Salem Church: Saturdays and Sundays only, 3-6 from June 21-August 10.

Plane The neartest airports are Washington-Dulles, Washington-National and Richmond.
Car Fredericksburg is located 50 miles south of Washington and 50 miles north of Richmond. The park contains numerous areas on both sides of I-95 in the Fredericksburg area.
Public Transportation Fredericksburg is served by Amtrak train service and by commuter rail service from Washington.
