A versatile, multi-sport panel loader, the Instinct is designed to handle any daylong mountain adventure you can cook up. The stretch pocket on the front is perfect for stashing a helmet or jacket, while the two stretch side pockets provide quick access to water bottles, energy bars or a point-and-shoot camera. It's easy to fish items out of the pack thanks to its large panel access, and the four compression straps cinch the contents into a stable load. Zippered top pocket, dual ice axe loops, hydration compatibility, rope strap and multiple torso lengths round out this versatile pack's features.
Great Pack
Have put about 50 miles on this pack now (day hikes) and have been stoked on the pack each time. The reason I chose this pack was because reviews on other sites had stated that this pack is wide, and I have a wide frame. The fit is perfect and like all other BD packs it has adjustments on the lumbar and shoulder straps creating a comfortable suspension system. The padding isn't amazingly thick but it seems very substantial compared to most packs. I have very large collar bones and prominent trap muscles so I do ache a bit after a 15 mile hike but it's not a deal breaker; all my packs have done this. There is one very large compartment, one small compartment (keys, phones, snacks), 2 side mesh pockets, and one rear compression sleeve (you could easily fit a large puffy jacket into this, or a soft shell). Seems very sturdy, and is heavier than other packs it's size, but not too heavy. The hydration pocket is a bit small in my opinion, I can barely fit my 2 liter bladder into it when it is full. IMO this is a very awesome, some what minimal, very reliable pack. I would highly recommend if you are looking for a larger day pack.
