Excellent for both resort and backcountry skiing, the rugged Descente Reed Jacket is part of Decente's Alpine Team collection and ideal for those who sometimes shred outerwear while they're ripping all-mountain terrain. It's made with a highly waterproof and durable Ramskin Stretch Twill that resists abrasion through seasons of hard use. Descente loaded this jacket with cool features, but of the most notable are the small side mirrors along the collar lining that can potentially improve peripheral vision, especially while wearing a helmet. On the left sleeve you'll find a small coin pocket that easily accommodates lift tickets, credit cards or other essentials. There's also a separate external phone pocket that gives you better access to your cellular phone or radio than the jackets with internal pockets. The Reed ski jacket has Descente's Airdrive lining so it not only wicks moisture away from your body, but it also retains heat far better than conventional polyester linings. That means you stay warmer without having to add extra layers. Airdrive absorbs moisture and odors while wicking away perspiration through an anti-bacterial membrane that feels soft against your skin. Between the lining and the outer stretch fleece is a special lightweight Titan Thermo layer that reflects heat back to your body while allowing moisture to escape. Descente also impregnated the fabric with minerals that generate negative ions from the fabric. Negative ions can help the body relax and possibly improve blood circulation. Preliminary clinical studies also indicate that negative ions help decrease blood pressure and strengthen bones. If you're serious about alpine comfort, Descente's Reed Jacket remains tough to beat.
