good for rocky trails
because this shoe is so wide and rugged, it's great for breezing over rocks that could otherwise slow you down or trip you up. good for winter and on mild summer days. it's a wider shoe so it accommodates some hefty socks for padding. i have narrow feet, so i find if i didn't wear those thick socks my feet would slosh around inside the shoe. for my next pair i think i will order a half-size down.

Arch support uncomfortable
I really like the look of these shoes, but the arch support was way too high on the inside of the shoe. It seemed to hit on the side of my foot, far above the arch. Maybe it was just a manufacturing defect on the particular pair I bought and had to return.
