Traditional construction allows for a comfortable, sensitive all-around shoe that features the world's stickiest Mad Rubber. Technical enough for competition climbing, yet comfortable enough for the rest of us.
Great Shoes
These shoes come with a great rubber already on them with great edging capabilities. Mad Rock's company will do full shoe resoles at great price and put on the science friction rubber (best currently available). Mine were true to size and stretched over my foot perfectly. They allow a great balance in climbing from smearing to edging. I'd recommend these shoes to anyone.
My First Climbing Shoes
These are the first climbing shoes I've bought and I am very impressed. Obviously they are a huge upgrade from rental shoes. With these I can comfortably and confidently use the smallest holds I have run into. I got mine a full size larger than my Nike running shoes, and they are mostly comfortable. After about 20 minutes I my big toe becomes slightly sore, but I can just slip them off easily while I belay. The slight discomfort is greatly outweighed by the performance and I am overall very pleased with these shoes.
Great Beginner Shoe! Stretches!
I very much like this shoe. I ordered my street shoes size (a 10) and they were extremely tight when I got them. During my 1st day to the climbing gym with them, I ended up taking them off between routes to let my toes rest. They are now snug and pretty comfortable after 3 days of use. These shoes stretch a lot. This shoe is a good beginner shoe. It does not hook very much (something more technical shoes do) and because of that can be more comfortable. The rubber is very sticky. I also like the velcro. I feel as though I can get a tighter fit with velcro as compared to laces. I did, however, have to trim the velcro straps because they were a bit too long and would sometimes catch on the rope pile as I was belaying. This was easy though. All in all, I'd recommend these shoes to beginners. The price is right.
