The Skyline offers MemBrain Strata rain protection with two inches extra length to guard against pant-jacket gaps on wet-weather outings.
lightweight, nice fit and comfortable fabric
This is a nice looking, nice drape, lightweight, comfortable rain jacket. The fit and style is very cosmopolitan, no room for underlayers. I have 2 other Marmot jackets and small is fine but this barely leaves room for a sweater underneath. Arms are noticeably long. A good around town light duty rain jacket but not right for serious outdoor work, hiking or extended backpacking I intended.
An Ordinary Shell-of-a-Jacket
I was attracted to the Skyline jacket due to the color options. Dreary colors in rain are not appealing and this was offered in upbeat colors. The color is a lovely & cheery green, HOWEVER the construction and sizing is more fitting to a junior size versus a MISSES, i.e. it is very fitted...no room for layering...at all. The sleeves are really long and can not be altered due to the design. The inside is a mesh fabric and will catch on the Velcro tabs. There are nicer jackets for less money and better value. I returned this and will keep looking. Just because it's raining, does not mean one does not want to layer under a rain jacket, especially in the wintertime! Marmot needs to allow for layering as we all do not live in tropical climates.
