Part of the Montrail Trans Trail series, the Montrail Wildwood TR Trail Running Shoe for Women was inspired by Portland, Oregon's Wildwood Trail; 32 miles of single track comprised of varying terrain and surfaces. The Wildwood Trail is the perfect blend of trail worthy protection, durability, and stability, while still delivering road cushioning, support, and durability. When your daily run takes you from the road to the trail and back again, the Wildwood Trail is the trailing running shoe of choice.
everything they say they are
This shoe fits a little loosely on my narrow foot, but i am able to suck up the slack and appreciate the bigger toe box. The length is a touch longer than the Montrail continental divide and the hurricane ridge, for which my extra long second toe is grateful. It will be an excellent shoe for summer running but in the midwinter it's a bit airy for those sub-freezing Montana temps, especially with wind. The first use gave me some problems with my Achilles tendon insertion, but i realized all my other shoes allowed me to fudge with my gait pattern, favoring that left lower extremity. For some reason the 360 degree stabilization on the Wildwood won't let me get away with that, and I've become a stronger runner as a result. Definitely worth the cost, just wish they were built with gortex. Thanks Montrail, for another good shoe.
