Wow! When Osprey decides to redesign their backpacks, they don't just tack on a couple new bells and whistles. The Osprey Aether 70 backpack now features a rebuilt AirScape suspension system, custom molded hipbelt technology, and the IsoForm shoulder harness, available in four sizes. This system truly gives the backpacker a personal fit. The AirScape suspension system provides superior breathablility and ultra-comfortable pack to body contact while dual 7075 AL rods along both edges of the framesheet transfer the load to the custom fit hipbelt. The Osprey Aether 70 backpack carries the usual assortment of camping gear in an organized, efficient manner. Removable sleeping pad straps are ready when needed but can be removed for more streamlined packing. A sleeping bag compartment opens nice and wide for easy load division. Furthermore, side compression straps, dual access side pockets, and a deep stretch woven exterior front pocket hold all sorts of things in such a manner that they don't clang or flop around. A refreshing sip of water is only a nod of the head away, thanks to dual exit ports for a hydration tube. And when you finally reach camp and want to head out on a reconnaissance mission, the floating top pocket and hipbelt can be removed from the pack body and joined together to make a fanny pack. The Osprey Aether 70 backpack is designed to comfortably carry loads of 40 to 50 lbs. For larger loads be sure to check out the Osprey Aether 85 backpack and for smaller loads be sure to check out the Osprey Aether 60 backpack.
Perfect in every way!!!!
Bought 2 of these for my son and I to use on a 11 day trek through Philmont in New Mexico. The size was perfect for our gear! It swallows gear when needed but closes down nicely for shorter trips and fits great to the body. Would not change a thing!
Most Excelant Pack
I have to say Christi in customer service was a super star in getting me this pack. I got it two days before going to Emigrant Wilderness. Most comfortable pack ever. I used the top as a day pack and it worked as designed. I read all the instructions twice to really let all the options sink into my noggin. One thing Osprey left out was that the hip belt can be moved up or down about 3 inches (I noticed this after using the belt for the day pack). I am 6' 3" with a long torso and when I put it all the way to the bottom for the trip out, it was EVEN more comfy!! LOVE this Pack.
Great all-around pack
Perfect for a long-weekend camping trip. Lightweight, comfortable (even when fully loaded), and plenty of room for all your camping gear. Plus, it held-up very well during my last hiking trip - even though it got quite a bit of use and abuse.
