Built with Ventia stretchwoven softshell fabric, the Outdoor Research Mithril Jacket for Men is ideal for coldweather activities where precipitation or foul weather is expected. Don the supple, fleecelined Mithril to ascend a spring couloir or paddle winter swells. External taping ensures that critical seams will remain waterproof. Elastic and hookloop cuff closures and waterresistant zippers create bombproof seals for skiing wet snow or climbing dripping waterfall ice.
Very nice jacket
I bought it, and wore it for mountain climbing. It was really warm during chilly days about 50 only with a midweight baselayer inside. And also kept me dry while raining. If it came with pit zips, it would be perfect.
Nice fit
I bought the L size, and it fits me well. I am 6'1" with broad shoulders, about 185 pounds, sleeves 34-35. I decided that this was the best buy for the price, with a bit more insulation and better fabric than the North Face Cipher. A bit too much insulation to wear above 55 degrees just walking around, though.
Excellent slim fit, good material, nice hood
I am 6'2", with broad shoulders. I liked the length of the sleeves (about 34-35), plus that this jacket fits well with or without additional insulating layers. Nice placement of pockets and vents. I bought this going into summer in the Northwest, but the taped seams and hood should be nicely waterproof when the winter rolls around again.
