Extremely warm and durable, the Patagonia Heavyweight Mountaineering Socks stymie the raw temps of skiing, ice climbing and cold-weather mountaineering. Tightly knit from a blend of 75 merino wool chlorine-free for warmth, they also have 12 nylon, 10 polyester and 3 spandex to balance durability and wicking performance. Soft, felted merino wool yarns throughout cushion, insulate, and last the lifetime of the sock.

Best Heavy Duty Socks
I own two pairs of these socks and they are tremendous. They keep your feet super warm when you are out on the trail or simply sitting by the fire at your winter campsite. Patagonia makes great gear, and these socks are no exception!

Warm and comfortable
I purchased these socks for my husband who works in a large freezer ten hours a day. He is very satisfied with the warmth and comfort of these socks. Also they wash very well though I hang them up to dry instead of using the dryer. I would buy them again.

Perfect for extreme weather
I've used these in temperatures down to about 5 degrees F, and they make a huge difference. These socks keep your feet warm and dry when worn with a wicking liner. They are also very durable and appear to stand up to washing and drying well. Remember to allow for the extra thickness when choosing what sized boots to wear with these socks.
