Product Description
Silky-soft Capilene 1 is the lightest of all our technical baselayers. A master at managing moisture to keep you cool during active use in warm to sweltering conditions, it also helps protect from the sun and acts as an excellent quick-wicking baselayer beneath heftier Capilene or wool insulation when the mercury plummets. Made from 100% post-consumer recycled (and 100% recyclable) Capilene 1 polyester, with Gladiodor natural odor control. Made in USA. Common Threads Recycling ProgramResearch shows that the environmental impact of recycling worn-out Capilene base layers into new polyester fiber is significantly lower than making that same fiber from virgin materials. Taking into account that worn-out garments are diverted from trash incinerators, making new polyester fiber from recycled garments results in an energy savings of 76% and a CO2 emissions [greenhouse gasses] reduction of 71%, versus creating that fiber from new raw material. Capilene Core PerformanceCapilene base layers afford quick-drying, next-to-skin moisture management for all activities in all conditions ? from high-altitude bivies to sun-soaked water sports. Just don't order the white...Stains easily
Bought this shirt in white. The fabric holds on to stains. Even after the wash, there were stains that I swore I never got! BUT...this shirt functions as promised, and will return it for a darker shirt
Fantastic Product
I have found the Capilene series to be the best base layer. The quality is outstanding and the fit is perfect for my 6'2" 185lbs frame (large). I highly recommend this product!
Outstanding!
I normally use the long sleeve for late fall and winter.....but, I found on the 09 SS #1 Capilene T's, the neck holes were too small (an issue I have not had since buying these shirts). Not so on the long sleeve. So, I am now using these year round. Result, I returned all the 09 SS's and now have 3 new LS #1 Cap T shirts, and these are the best fitting T's they have made since I have been buying them. This is the only T shirt material I can go through the woods with and not worry about pulls in the fabric due to stickers or issues using backpacks or life jackets. I have yet to wear out even one Patagonia T shirt. Be nice if Patagonia would bring back some of the colors from previous years however! I am not aware of any other company that makes a bullet proof shirt like this. I pair this with their Houdini UL jacket, which I just can not be without.
