Starting with crisp fall evenings and lasting through spindrift-blasted belays and backcountry hut tours, cold-weather outings call for top-level insulation. The R3? Jacket is our warmest nonlaminated (thus more breathable) fleece, with a technical design that excels alone or under a shell. The dense velour face helps stop wind, while the superplush interior grid soothes and adds wicking and warmth. Offset shoulder seams allow for pack-wearing comfort. Pockets: two zippered hand and one chest. 100% recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

Comfortable, warm and good looking
The R3 has been a great buy - the material makes it very comfortable and warm to wear. I bought the R3 in black, and it's a smart looking, crisp fall/spring jacket, and also goes very well as a warm layer underneath my heavy coat during freezing winters. Does not hinder arm/shoulder movement at all, like some other jackets are likely to. The material does not thread (at the elbows, sides, etc) as some other jackets are prone to.

Great Jacket - Lightweight and Warm
When I received the jacket, I questioned whether it would be warm enough. Except in extreme conditions (especially high winds), the jacket is plenty warm. As a bonus, the styling and color set it apart from the crowd. Very happy with the purchase.

This is the best jacket I have ever owned in my life.
The layers are so condensed that I have absolutely free movement, more so than any other jacket I have owned. Because of the jacket's warmth, I spend more time out-of-doors without having to worry about the cold-factor.
