Shorecasting all day on the deserted sand of New Zealands 90 Mile Beach can mean overbearing southern hemisphere sun and evenings agitating sand flies. Lightweight nylon Sol Patrols cover both bases with built-in sun protection (30 UPF) and a tight weave that is impenetrable to annoying insects. Theyre also quick-drying, nonchafing and compressible and have an easy, wrinkle-free drape. Front slant pockets with mesh drainage strips. Inseam (size 32) is 32.

Excellent for mild conditions
This is a remarkably soft and stylish looking pant that will do great in mild conditions. Couple of things to note; the material is a bit transparent and if you wear sort of striped boxers, get ready for some comments :-). Also, the pockets are positioned slightly higher than normal pants. Not a big deal, but just an observation. Cheers.

nice pants
Well made, light weight and sized properly. The pants dont wrinkle as easily as I thought. They look like khakis and wear like hiking pants. Only complaint, there is only one pocket that has a zipper.

Very very light, odd fit
I usually love all Patagonia products. These were a bit too lightweight for me. They offer little protection to the elements and I would not recommend hiking with them. They would be good to walk around a beach-side town in.
