Salomon Sick Stick Snowboard
While most of Salomon's expert-oriented snowboards are all about freeride and freestyle, this new Sick Stick is all about deep powder. If you ever splurge on that once-in-a-lifetime heli-tour or that big week after the blizzard resort trip, this is the snowboard that you want to take with you into the backcountry. The Sick Stick snowboard is part of Salomon's new "more pop, less plastic" green initiative in snowboard design, and it's also a lightweight, powder-oriented expert platform that dominates light snow and untracked terrain. Along the sidewalls of the Sick Stick Salomon added eco-friendly waterproof bamboo rods and rubber. Salomon also used a special bamboo light glass layer construction that not only reduces the content of petroleum-based materials, but also reduces the board weight, so there's a bit more pop when you need it. One of the cool features about this board is the tapered twin shape, or as Salomon's marketing department calls it the "exclusive double pointy-nose shape"--it's a switch-friendly profile that works better than most backcountry boards--especially when you're messing around in deep powder. (Just remember to bring a transponder, okay?)
