Light, simple, and strong - the Sirius 2 from Sierra Designs incorporates a 3/4 fly (in poly this year) to keep the weight at 4 lbs 2 oz, with two doors and vestibules, and an easy-to-pitch design. Sierra Designs revolutionary Quick Pitch Swivel Hub speeds set-up by having the tent's poles pre-threaded and ready to snap into place.
Single/Double Wall Hybrid fits the bill.
Affordable, LIGHT, and just big enough for two 6' guys and a pair of boots each (and I love the pockets). I've spent many nights out in tent from awesome starry nights (thank you mesh!) to most recently in a flash flood situation in AR (thank you water protection!). The only water in the tent was because my sleeping bag is too long and kept touching the tent's single wall. Taller guys may want to move on unless packing with a shorter female and can steal her foot room! Make sure it's staked out tight to give you the most room. 3 tips that help us: 1. Backpack wrapped in cover pushed against the vestibule wall spreads the vestibule area out a bit for some more room without getting gear wet and away from tent walls. 2. I use crocs for my camp shoes and I like to wedge them on my side of the tent between the sleeping pad and tent wall where the zipper starts; keeps the wall from sagging in when soaked. 3. We sleep heads under the double wall section; it's easier to 'push the seams' a little this way and keeps our narrowest parts of the body in the area you DON'T want touching the tent walls. I'd rather have a roomier and lighter tent but I can not justify buying another when this is perfectly fine.
