A great choice for summer mountaineering trips or other adventures involving colder temperatures, the SmartWool Trekking Heavy Crew sock provides a haven of comfort for your feet. Heavy full cushioning surrounds the foot, a nice buffer to have when wearing the heavier, stiffer footwear usually associated with extended alpine excursions. The SmartWool fibers also have a lot to do with the fabulous comfort experienced in the SmartWool Trekking Heavy Crew sock. They have a very small micron diameter, between one-tenth and one-third the size of a human hair, making for a very soft, comfortable feel. And equally important, these same fibers move perspiration moisture at a fast clip, even while still in the vapor stage so the feet stay dry throughout the day.
- Fabric content: 75% wool, 24% nylon, 1% spandex

great for multi-day backpacking
I love Smartwool, and I love these socks. I recently wore them backpacking for several days straight, and they stayed cushy, dry, odor-free, and kept their shape the whole time. My boots got a little wet on the inside when I crossed a stream, but these socks drew the moisture away from my feet. Since it was their first time out, they got a little pilly on the outside, but otherwise great performance.

Trekking Heavy Crew Socks (formerly Expedition)
I wear these socks year round and have been singing their praises to my husband for several years. He finally decided he had to try them and he LOVES them. I've never seen him so excited by socks! He likes the soft insides, the cushioning and the warmth without the sweat on his feet. I have narrow, boney feet and these wonderfully cushion my feet from wear and tear. Just be sure to turn them inside out when you wash them or they get some pilling over time. I would recommend these to every one!

Cushiony!
Very soft and cushioned and the inside is fluffy. I use these socks because I have foot injuries and they offer the best cushions for my feet and feel great.
