If weight and price matter most, you'll sleep well down the trail on the Thermarest Ridge Rest mattress. This closed foam pad features molded ridges to help trap heat beneath your sleeping bag. The thin width and lightweight profile make it an easy choice for minimalists, but keep in mind that this mattress doesn't have a non-slip bottom so it works best in compact one- and two-person tents.
Best Pad I have Found
It's light, durable, and will never deflate. Warm enough for me at 15-20 degrees. Comfort takes a little getting used to.
great pad
I used inflatables for years and although they are very good insulators in the winter, they are also slippery at times and difficult to stay on top of. The ridge rest does not have this problem. I bought this when I first went light weight and will never regret it. It is very comfortable AND light.
Total Crap
Worse than cheap closed-cell pads I've slept on (including my folks' from the seventies). More insulation than the ground, but perhaps even more uncomfortable. i felt like I was getting bruises from the ridges, several nights in a row. Very worth getting a better pad. Really.
