If weight and price matter most, you'll sleep well down the trail on the Thermarest Ridge Rest backpacking mattress. This closed foam pad features molded ridges to help trap heat beneath your sleeping bag. The thin width and lightweight profile make it an easy choice for minimalists, but keep in mind that this mattress doesn't have a non-slip bottom so it works best in compact one- and two-person tents.
lightweight, warm and functional
bought this for my lady, who uses a short thermarest but still has issues with getting cold. This is light enough for her to add to her pack and by using both she can stay much warmer. We do extended backpacking trips and this added weight is not an issue-I just might have to carry something she once did!
Best ever!
Everyone I go camping with has one. Lets you sleep like a log. Best ever!
Comfort
As a teenager I used a Therm-A-Rest Ridge Rest as my first backpacking sleeping pad... as a scout leader I now use them because they are inexpensive, comfortable, and bomb proof! 18 years later I'm not using that Ridgerest anymore, but it goes on every trip I take... its just strapped to one of my scout's backpacks now.
