Great for just about any adventure, the Thermarest Trail Lite Sleeping Pad is light enough for backpacking yet thick enough to transform the hard, cold ground into a wonderful place to spend the night. This versatile model is the right choice for those who want one mattress for all their activities. The textured polyester surface is slip resistant so you don't wake-up three feet away from your pillow.
Dang Fine Pad. Dang Fine Price
I purchased one at a local outfitter for $72 before uncle sam got his money too. I was leery about chunkin' that much change when I had two military foam pads anyway. But the fella at Sunflower in Lawerence had a table full of river rocks so you can try out the pads. I was amazed I couldn't feel one lump. I could've napped there if he let me. I bought one. Well, camping with my girlfriend, I didn't feel right hoggin it, so I let her sleep on it while I doubled upon the two foam ones. It was ok, but not as comfy as the Thermarest Trail Lite. Next time we went out it was on a river bank of rock. Once again, her-Thermarest, me-foam el doublay. It was ok, I guess, but when I took a nap on it during the day, I said "hell no - I am getting another one" So I researched and Altrec has the best deal out there- Heck of a price, free shipping - can't beat that. I can tell you these are durable and after many uses- no signs of wear - built to last. It's light too. Sleep is important - especially if you are in the wilderness. The ground will suck the heat out of you -This pad will ensure that does not happen as it also ensures you much comfort.
Best Price on the Internet!
After one night on the ground (inside the tent of course) I decided right away that the Thermarest pad that I used while in the military was the thing for me. I researched and purchased this through Altrec with free shipping and it is wonderful. All Thermarest products require a little extra air to make them firm enough but make sure to store them unrolled to get the maximum self-inflation when you use them. They are great insulators from the ground and cold.
Great pad and great price.
We bought this sleeping pad to use on our camping trip across the country from Virginia to Montana. We have had no problems with it whatsoever. The self-inflation claim is a little misleading, as some of the other reviews point out...you actually have to give it a couple of breaths to make it firm, but it's no problem. I would recommend this pad to anyone seeking a better night's sleep in the wild.
