For backcountry excursions, the Burton AK 20L Pack offers an external shovel blade pocket and external pole / probe storage. Additionally, the X-Lock vertical board carry allows you to attach and compress your board to your pack in one motion. This configuration also prevents the snowboard tail from hitting the back of your legs. Full hydration compatibility and a sound pocket with headphone cable port take the edge off snowfield trudges.
