It's also an easier-turning alternative to women's powder-oriented, all-mountain skis. The Tough Luv features a fast and agile metal laminate construction that's lightweight and lively in rolling bumps and broken crud. If you're wondering about the mix of fir and spruce in the core, that's the key element in K2's female-specific BioFlex design. K2 created a stable and forgiving profile by using spruce at the tip and tail and fir beneath the binding area. Using spruce at the ends helps with turn initiation and enhances the lightweight characteristics that are essential in keeping a female-specific ski more responsive than a heavier unisex ski design.
