Built with the same award-winning last on the lace-up Testarossa climbing shoe, La Sportiva's Venom shoe features the same slip- and lace-free fit and comfort found on previous Cobra climbing shoes. The result is a great last with an aggressive, asymmetrical toe, incredible sensitivity and nary a knot to untie. The phenomenal toe-hooking performance in the Vibram Web Rubber upper was enough to impress the folks at Rock and Ice, resulting in an Editor's Choice award for 'Best Steep-Rock Shoe.' Climbing Magazine also gave the Venom high marks and their own Editor's Choice award. About the only thing left from the Cobra us the proven and reliable 3.5 mm. XSV sole and the ultra-sensitive 0.8 mm. Laspoflex midsole in forefoot, which is a great thing when you consider that you're shaving off almost two ounces of excess weight per pair.
