Outdoor Research developed the Alpine Bivy bag with a deep taffeta floor that easily accommodates thicker insulated mats like the Exped Downmat 7. The shell material on the Alpine Bivy is a triple-ply GORE-TEX Respirator+, a special durable and waterproof fabric specifically created for bivy sleep systems by GORE-TEX labs. GORE-TEX Respirator+ optimizes weather protection while creating a vapor-permeable layer that won't collect condensation like other weather-resistant bivy systems. If you need more ventilation, the no-see-um netting on the Outdoor Research Advanced Bivy Bag allows better airflow without letting the bugs in. The Alpine Bivy Bag comes with five stake loops, a single hoop poles and a guy line loop for adding space in an incredibly lightweight, two-pound package. Inside you'll find a small internal mesh pocket for your watch, flashlight, paperback book, PSP or Game Boy DS game system (reallyâ??) and other evening essentials.
