Product Description: Patagonia Men's Thing Thong by Patagonia
Usually old rubber is left for dead, but Patagonia's Thing Thong caught it on the rebound and used up to 20% of it in their durable and flexible outsole. The Thing is about comfort and the environment. Not only do the leather straps come from ISO 14001-registered tanneries, but the inner lining is made from hemp. While everyone seems to have an opinion on the use of hemp, Patagonia's is more practical than political. Footwear made from hemp generally breathes better, smells better than leather shoes and requires no break-in period. Hemp is environmentally smart because it has a short growing cycle, requires little water or pesticides, and resists molds and bacteria in a variety of conditions. Patagonia also added hemp as a substrate to the soles in the Thing for a distinct texture. It's a fun design that you can feel good about wearing.
