Frequency ski and snowboard helmet is lighter than injection molded models, contributing to the feather-light feel that makes you nearly forget that the helmet is on. Also contributing to the unencumbered feeling is a host of adjustable comfort features to give you the exact fit you desire. A Softfit dual component liner conforms to the shape of your head so you don't feel annoying pressure points as you bounce through the bumps. To get a snug fit, the MC2, Mechanical Fit and Comfort System, adjusts the liner's circumference to match your head precisely, and a Zip Clip ratcheting chin buckle offers fine-tuning so that the strap is not too loose, nor too tight. Quick Clip ear pads on the R.E.D. Frequency Helmet provide ear muff-like protection from stinging wind chill and easily remove for comfort in mild conditions or to swap out for the speaker equipped Audex Audio Ear Pad Accessory. And not to be forgotten, Burton's R.E.D. Frequency Helmet includes Climacontrol venting, a series of screened vents across the top of the helmet that close partially or all the way, depending on the amount of air intake that makes you the most comfortable.
