With 37 inches of headroom, the Dyad is an excellent fastpacking design, especially if you find yourself tangled up in cramped bivy bags and other ultralight tents. Overhead vents and perimeter vents combine to optimize the high-low air flow, although you can cut any excess breeze with the integrated zippers. This is accomplished with The North Face's new Nano-Knuckle Swivel, a durable plastic swivel that's positioned on the top cross pole to improve venting at the top without leaving you exposed to the elements. The durable nylon canopy is fully seam sealed for optimal weather protection, and The North Face tested the slightly smaller Solo 12 in wind tunnel gusts clocked up to 95 mph.
